Tanzania Honeymoon Safari
What better way to begin married life than with a real adventure? A honeymoon is often the most memorable – and carefully-chosen – holiday that a couple will ever take, and a honeymoon safari will not disappoint. It absolutely ticks that ‘something special’ box. From Peak of Africa to the extended beaches of Zanzibar !
Day 1: Arrival
You will meet our driver(s) at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), transfer to Tulia hotel & SPA in Arusha. Evening you will meet your mountain guide for a short briefing about Kilimanjaro and equipment checking.
Day 2: Marangu Gate 1970m to Mandara Hut 2700m
After breakfast, meet your team at the hotel ready to drive to the Marangu gate. Soon after completing registrations at the gate, your journey will begin by walking through the forest. Picnic lunch will be served on route before arriving at Mandara hut. After arriving at the camp, you will have a short walk (less than one hour) to visit Mahundi crater. Evening you will get hot water for washing followed by dinner.
Day 3: Mandara 2700m to Horombo Hut 3720m
Early morning call, packing, washing and get ready for the heavy breakfast. Soon after your breakfast, you leave Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut 5 hours walking. If the weather will be clear, you will get the first view of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks on the way. You will enjoy your first picnic lunch on Kilimanjaro on halfway. As usual, in the evening you will get hot water for washing before dinner.
Day 4: Full day at Horombo Hut (acclimatization day)
Unlike other days, today you spend your full day at the camp for acclimatization. After heavy breakfast, you will discuss with your guide the best time to have a short walk to visit Zebra rocks. It is the set of large volcanic rocks with black and white stripes that resembles that of Zebras. Enjoy hot lunch at the camp today.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut.
After breakfast, your journey starts at moorland and finally to the alpine desert. You will have your picnic lunch at Saddle point (between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo). Expect to reach Kibo Hut early for relaxation. This evening you will have your dinner earlier in order to get enough time of resting for the summit night.
Day 6: Summit Night (Kibo to Uhuru Peak to Horombo)
This is your most important night, our guides will wake up you before 12 am for the preparations of the summit. (make sure you wear proper clothes for the summit). After light breakfast, you will start the summit climb around 12:00 am. Take it EASY! Don’t think too much about the night, don’t run just take your slow pace(pole-pole) always follow the advice from your guide. Never give up even if you feel exhausted just keep ongoing while drinking frequently. Remember it is possible to reach the top! Your first high point will be Gilman’s point 5,681m It takes up to 2 hours from Gilman’s point to Uhuru Peak. If you luckily push yourself to Stella Point 5,756m you will get an amazing view of the sunrise, crater, and glaciers. Don’t stay too long at Stela’s point drink your tea or hot water then keep moving on to Uhuru Peak.After reaching the top, spend just a few minutes taking photographs then descend back to Kibo Hut for breakfast. After lunch, descend to Horombo Hut where you spend your last night on the mountain. Hopefully, you will get a better night’s sleep due to physical exhaustion.
Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Early in the morning after the last breakfast on the mountain, descend about 5 to 6 hours back to Marangu Gate. Check out Kilimanjaro National Park and your guides will collect your certificates. Our professional driver(s) and the company Manager will be waiting for you at Marangu gate ready to take you back to Tulia Hotel in Arusha for the celebrations.
Day 8 Full day relaxation in Arusha
Due to physical exhaustion from the mountain, today you will have a full day for relaxation at the hotel in Arusha.
Day 9 Arusha to Serengeti National Park
Soon after breakfast, meet your safari guide and start your journey to Serengeti National Park. You will pass Olduvai Gorge, the tribute for Dr Leakey and Mary Leakey searching for the origin of man. After spending enough time at Olduvai, the journey will proceed to an endless plain of the Serengeti, You will have amazing moments enjoying the en-route game drive to Serena Lodge in Serengeti.
Day 10: Serengeti National Park to Arusha
Spend the whole day exploring the rolling plains of Serengeti National Park in search of the large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed, Serengeti is famous for the Wildebeest migration. If you visit during the right time for the migration you will have an unforgettable experience. Just in case you visit before or after the migration, no worry you still have a chance to see many animals such as Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Monkeys, Baboons, Hippos, Rhinos, Antelopes and different species of birds. After a game, depending on your local flight you will drive to Seronera airstrip into Serengeti, for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, our representative in Zanzibar will pick you and transfer to Amaan Bungalows for dinner and overnight
Day 11 Visit Stone Town and Spice tours
The morning after breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to Stone Town for the history and cultures embrace Zanzibar. After local lunch, proceed to an exclusive spice tour with in-depth info about spices rationale for Zanzibar’s natives. Then after, we take you back to your hotel to collect all your staffs and transfer to the airport for departure.
